Crowns and Bridges
Crowns are synthetic caps, usually made of a material like porcelain, placed on the top of a tooth. Crowns are typically used to restore a tooth's function and appearance following a restorative procedure such as a root canal. When decay in a tooth has become so advanced that large portions of the tooth must be removed, crowns are often used to restore the tooth. Read More...

Fillings
Do you have concerns about amalgam (silver-mercury) fillings?  At Simply Smiles, we have not placed any amalgam fillings in the last 25 years.  One big reason is our concern for the environment.  Mercury that ends up in our water supply is definitely something to be avoided.  Also, our patients and staff are exposed to a bit of mercury when an amalgam filling is placed and also when it is removed.  Whether these procedures, or the presense of these fillings in our mouths, represents a health hazard, is uncertain.  We would not expect any health conditions to improve just by removing your amalgams (althought some people advocate that).  But by placing only mercury-free fillings in our office, we feel we are doing the best thing for you, for our staff, and for our envoronment.
